How public tendering works in United States

The United States federal government is the largest single buyer in the world, and every federal opportunity worth more than $25,000 is advertised through one system.

• Our US listings come from SAM.gov's public Contract Opportunities extract, which the government republishes daily. We refresh it twice a day.
• We list solicitations, presolicitations and sources-sought notices that still have a response deadline. Many are set aside for small, veteran-owned or disadvantaged businesses - the set-aside is shown on each tender.
• To bid you need a SAM.gov registration and a Unique Entity ID, which is free but takes time to obtain. Register before a deadline depends on it.
• This covers federal buying only. The fifty states and thousands of local governments each run their own procurement, which we do not yet cover.
