BDC’s Financing team plays a central role in fulfilling its mission to support the growth and success of Canadian businesses. Through its Business Development Leads (hereinafter “BDLs”), BDC seeks to build relationships with its clients based on trust, the relevance of the advice provided, and the quality of business interactions. In an ever-changing business environment, BDLs must be able to conduct high-value-added business conversations, adapt to the context and style of their counterparts while effectively steering the dialogue, position BDC’s solutions appropriately, handle objections, negotiate credibly, and secure client commitment. BDLs must also demonstrate the unique value of BDC’s offerings and help clients appreciate the benefits, relevance, and impact of the proposed solutions within their business context. These skills are part of the development of BDC’s “Sales Management” functional competency. This engagement focuses primarily on sales training and sales coaching services aimed at developing skills related to closing sales and business interactions, including negotiation, handling objections, influencing others, conducting high-value-added business conversations throughout the sales process, and securing client commitment (hereinafter “Services”). BDC wishes to engage the services of one (1) specialized firm to assist it in developing the sales skills of its Business Development Leads (BDLs) as well as the sales coaching capabilities of its Business Center Managers (BCMs).
