Rotherham Local Area Energy Plan

What the buyer is asking for

This procurement is for a Rotherham local area energy plan, or 'LAEP'. A Rotherham LAEP will be expected to deliver the following: • Stakeholder Engagement with primary and secondary external stakeholders • Data collection and analysis • Modelling scenarios and pathways to net zero local area carbon dioxide emissions from the energy system in Rotherham. • Identifying, prioritising and refining projects and enabling actions required to achieve local and regional climate change mitigation goals. • Defining a monitoring and evaluation framework, comprising key indicators of progress against decarbonisation pathways and delivery, as follows: • A final report and executive summary for policy makers, conveying the scale and range of activity needed to achieve a net zero local energy system; estimates of the total investment required and additional economic, social and environmental value which may be realised from the investment; and any key differences between areas within Rotherham. It is anticipated that the contract will commence December 2026 and will run for a period of 9 months making the expiry date September 2027.
