Strategic Flood Risk Assessments Level 1 and 2

What the buyer is asking for

East Suffolk Council, West Suffolk Council, Babergh District Council, Mid Suffolk District Council and Ipswich Borough Council are seeking to commission a combined Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA). This combined SFRA will cover all of Suffolk. The purpose of the Strategic Flood Risk Assessment is to inform the preparation of new Local Plans. All of the above Councils are each commencing a review of their local plans and will be working to similar timetables. The spatial strategy in each Local Plan should be informed by robust and up to date evidence about flood risk. In particular, the flood risk evidence should inform the location of new development allocations, taking into account the need for significantly increased housing provision. It will also inform decision making about planning applications, particularly larger ones.
