What the buyer is asking for

Armagh City, Banbridge And Craigavon Borough Council has secured funding from the PEAT+ project administered by the Special EU Programmes Body. PEAT+ is a transformative cross-border partnership initiative to restore peatlands, enhance biodiversity and combat climate change across Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland. The Council invites Tenders from suitably experienced, environmentally conscious and qualified contractors to control and eradicate Invasive Rhododendron from within a 50ha designated control area on the site of Peatlands Park SAC in Co Armagh. The primary objective of this restoration work is to control all Rhododendron Ponticum a non native invasive plant species within the designated control area. The fund aims to deliver large-scale peatland restoration across Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland on 22 priority sites. The PEAT+ Project will also help recover threatened species closely associated with peatland habitats, including golden plover and the large heath butterfly.
